Brief Summary of The Hunger Games
Suzanne Collins is the author of The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games are based on a legend. Every year, fighting events take place in which you must either win or die. Twelve impoverished districts surrounded a wealthy and technologically advanced capital. They randomly select two candidates from each district to compete against other districts in the competition. They must murder each other to win and represent their district as a winner in the end.

Major Characters of The Hunger Games
Katniss Everdeen
She is the protagonist in this novel, and she is a significant character. She was the first representative of the district. She is a wonder in the field of archery. She began the competition by concealing herself from others to save herself until the end. She was a bold woman who used archers to murder several opponents of her. Throughout the competition, her warm heart for others wowed the audience.
Peeta Mellark
Peeta is another crucial character. Despite being an inexperienced player with no visible ability, he was chosen as the second district delegate. He and Katniss had great romantic chemistry throughout the tournament. Katniss saves Peeta's life by administering healing drugs when an opponent brutally injures him. As a result, they battled as a unit and developed a bond.
Minor Characters of The Hunger Games
Gale Hawthorne
He was a minor character whom we can see was in a relationship with Katniss at the novel's start. Gale Hawthorne was assisting Katniss with her hunting, and we can see Gale bringing Katniss bread, which she was overjoyed with because she had not had bread in a long time.
Rue
She is another minor character. She was only 12 years old at the time. Even though Rue was one of Katniss's opponents, she assisted her in escaping. Since Rue was small and terrified, Katniss hooked up with him. Rue needed to eat. As a result, Katniss devised a strategy to locate and procure food for Rue. When Katniss returned with food, she discovered Rue had been imprisoned and slaughtered right before her. Katniss exacted immediate vengeance on Rue's assassin.
Personal Reflection on The Hunger Games
Now, my favorite part was when Rue died. Katiness brought white flowers and buried Rue with honor, although they were enemies. This act of humanity astounded the audience, including all of the districts present.
Despite having a relationship with Gale Hawthorne before the tournament, Katniss falls in love with Peeta. This surprised the readers, and it has a fan base. I was upset since Katniss was displaying her personality and impressing everyone with her distinct attributes, but in the end, she dumped Gale for someone else. Her blatant cheating has wholly ruined my feelings for her.
The Hunger Games: A Story That Captures the Emotions of Its Readers
The Hunger Games is a story that captures the emotions of its readers. The cruelty of the dystopian society in which the story of The Hunger Games is set is juxtaposed against the greatness of the human spirit. The sacrifices made by the characters are a testament to the power of love. Each participant from each district had their own survival and tactical capabilities, and some individuals were more powerful than the main character. Nonetheless, Katiness tested her patience with zeal and meticulous planning during the game. As a result, she was able to secure the district's crown. The lesson I received from the story is to never be in a hurry when completing something important in your life. Furthermore, it is important to plan ahead of time before doing anything. Therefore, I believe the story is worthwhile reading.
