Exploring China: A Tapestry of Modernity and Nature

When we travel, our minds expand and we create memories that will last a lifetime. It is pretty amazing how exploring new places, as I did in China, can both eye-opening and humbling. This huge country gave me so many different experiences - from towering skyscrapers to serene parks teeming with wildlife.

Unique Chinese foods

When I first arrived in China, one thing I found challenging was the language barrier. The majority of Chinese people I came across did not speak much English, so it was a bit difficult for me to communicate. It is really important to have a translator or use a voice translator app to help you navigate through everyday life in China.

On the bright side, China has an amazing food culture. Their enthusiasm for pork aside, the impressive spread of delectable fast food choices truly delighted me. And if you are missing the taste of home and feeling all sentimental, do not stress. Supermarkets and local markets have everything you need to recreate those familiar flavours that remind you of home. Just grab all the ingredients you need from there and whip up a tasty meal in your own kitchen.

In China, big cities are a sight to see with all their super modern architecture. There are so many tall skyscrapers that reach up into the sky, looking amazing in the morning sun and dazzling at night with lights everywhere. Canton Tower is this huge structure made of steel and glass, showing off how awesome China is in construction. When you are up on its observation deck, you can see the whole city spread out below you like a sparkling picture, it feels like a totally different world.

In contrast to the urban jungle, Canouan Park in Foshan offers a refreshing escape. This sprawling park, taking over three hours to traverse by tour bus, is a haven for diverse flora and fauna. The chirping of birds, the occasional roar of a tiger, and the trumpet of an elephant create a symphony of nature. The cable car ride over the park was truly a highlight of my experience. It provided me with a sense of exhilaration and awe as I soared above the stunning landscapes and beheld the magnificent creatures that roamed beneath me. If you are looking for some peace and quiet away from the busy city life, Canouan Park is definitely worth a visit.

In China, you can find tons of great deals in the market. The prices are so low that they might surprise you. But, be careful when buying cheap stuff without a brand. The quality can be, sometimes, hit or miss. It is safer to go for trusted brands or buy handmade souvenirs that show off the rich cultural heritage of China.

Despite the flaws present in every country, China left a lasting impression on me. The gleaming roads, awe-inspiring tourist destinations, and monumental structures all contribute to a unique and unforgettable experience. I yearn to return one day, delve deeper into its history and culture, and discover more hidden gems that this fascinating country has to offer.
